I like the stock Alpine system. I bought my 19 used in Jan 2020 and one of the soundbar speakers was blown and figured good time for a speaker upgrade.

Took Crutchfield's *expert* advice, cutup my soundbar and installed the bracket and speakers they recommended, wow they sounded terrible. They sent me another pair and equally as bad. I'm sure it had to do with OHMs or some other spec not matching.

Luckily I found a replacement soundbar with the factory speakers for less than 200 bucks and I think it sounds great and I'm back to the factory look.

The Alpine is definitely a must for the Jeeps! Without it it's just simply horrible.

I wish the Alpine had more treble, other than that I cant really complaint.

Only thing I find very annoying is the rattles, specially with the Bass turned up.

I have Corvettes, a Silverado Dually Diesel, and a Porsche with great sound systems and I have no complaints with the sound system in my 23 Wrangler Rubi. Although, I only listen to XM Radio, I am perfectly happy the sound system in all of my vehicles, including a JVC Sound System in my Race Car Trailer, and I don't think any less of the sound system in my Wrangler.
I have 20+ years experience running/mixing live sound & our 25 JL with the basic sys is among the most pathetic auto systems I’ve ever heard.
I’m trying to wrap my head around you mentioning great systems & speaking of JVC in the same paragraph. That’s a major oxymoron. šŸ˜³šŸ˜‚

While reading this thread, I have a few thoughts.
Installing any electronics in the rear storage compartment such as amps or crossovers. One of the most destructive things to do with any electronics is to put them in a hot non ventilated space. About the only thing more damaging is moisture or acid for electronics.

The theory that the acoustics of a Jeep will not allow quality audio is false. This is no different than concerts that are staged in huge colosseums that will seat 30-50k+.
The larger the space/void, the more db needed to fill the area. More db can only be achieved by more & larger speakers which then require more watts(amp) to power spkrs.
Then the big problem is all this requires more money, & or course the quality of your equipment & the installation is important also.

I’m guessing the factory stereo wasn’t good enough for this guy either. šŸ˜‚

Now that’s what I’m talking about. I’m just not sure how you’re gonna get enough amps to power that. 🤣
