Pretty sure a LED headlight looks the same as a halogen headlight. Upon close scrutiny, i think there is a subtle reflector difference.

I can guarantee the used led lights your thinking about buying will not be plug and play, and will require flashing.

Adding additional led lights anywere is a whole new problem.

Good luck with whatever you decide...

See, so then I will have a problem after all... I mean, I will eventually add pods to my jeep, a light bar as well, that's 100%. So once I go through adding all that I will go through the same problem?

Sorry,
I can't speak about pods or lightbars because i have no experience with them.

That said, once you have a light bar installed, no more parking in underground parking lots.

He says he didn't need anything, he installed everything and it worked flawlessly, but you know, I would also say if I wanted to get rid of everything, you know what I am saying? I don't know what can go wrong here, and that's the nightmare, I've spent a lot of time and talking to people about what to do, there just seems to be many different ways and I don't know for sure whether the real plug and play options are going to save me a trip to the dealer, or getting a tazer which is really not my wish. My jeep is under warranty so I want to make sure I don't mess anything up myself.
Take into account some jeeps come with LED upgrade package so computer has already been programmed. I bought these for my 2021 JLU that came with halogen lights. It was plug in ready no warning lights or nothing

Light bars and pods will not be same issue. Again I installed LED Pods and light bar and had to do nothing.

Thanks Billy.

I know, and it does make sense, cheaper over all but in terms of look?

As of right now, all I care is about really being able to see at night so light bulbs are not going to be my no-no. But eventually I'd like to change my headlights, and IDK if the same problem will happen with I add pods, do I have to have a LED set up to add pods? They're all LED.
Be aware, swapping out halogen for LED bulbs will fail state inspection in some states.

If you find it difficult to see at night with the halogen lights when you are on an empty road you might want to go see an ophthalmologist. It could be a sign that your night vision is deteriorating.

Have you tried buying higher quality halogen bulbs to replace your current ones?

I have the factory halogen lights and generally have no trouble except on undivided highways when there are lots of vehicles coming the other way with LED lights.

Auxito makes a great drop in LED bulb that has the same focusing properties of the OEM bulb. All quality LED companies now have that option. A few years ago there were only mostly universal replacements that required fine tuning, that no one did. The result was poor light output where it's needed, and glare for everyone ahead of you.

And, there are something you just don't buy used. Lighting would be one of those. If one of those lights was dropped, there is a high likelihood that it will malfunction. Then you have no recourse. You will be forced to buy a new replacement. And just because something looks like a factory unit, doesn't mean it will function like one.

Lighting isn't something to cheap out on. Buy something new, from a quality manufacturer that will back up their products. If you do your research here, there are some good companies, like Diode Dynamics and Morimoto. Then there are some other companies who may warranty a light once, then be done with you if you have further issues, and then there are those companies that don't exist within a month or two after you bought from them.

If you don’t trust the seller then buy directly from one that has a return policy (like the sponsors here or Amazon). You’ll pay a little more (if it’s Amazon) to a lot more (forum sponsors), but you’re paying for the return policy, warranty, and peace of mind.

I had halogens. I replaced all of mine with LEDs. Initially I installed full LED assemblies for the headlights and fogs and just LED bulbs for the reverse lights and the blinkers/side markers. I later replaced the taillights with a low profile LED assembly. Everything was 100% plug and play. No extra harnesses. No programming. I went with a named brand instead of an Amazon special, and you’ve indicated you don’t want to do that.

Thank you for taking the time to write such an unnecessary comment about my vision. I can perfectly see on an empty road with my current halogens. In the end, and if you read my comment thoroughly, I want to make the conversion to LED because of efficiency and looks, not to just be able to see well at night.

I will be replacing my headlights soon and letting you all know how it went. :)

Thank you!

I finally watched some videos and contacted Extreme Terrain directly to make sure they would work and are fully plug and play and they are. I am getting them this weekend and installing them some time soon, I will keep you all posted.

Totally right. Extreme Terrain told me that. My Jeep is an Unlimited Sport, and those items don't fit that model. Everything else is indeed compatible :D

My thought, you seem to want it done right. Buy some oem mopar LED out of a salvage yard or ebay, install, let dealer flash it. Done, OEM, more resale value and no problems. Or place on ebay has new in box oem led, $1,300. Fair price IMO
