Out of state Gupton Buyers: I just received my paperwork in the mail from Gupton and there was a check for the exact amount of my sales tax. I assume this is because Gupton didn’t pay the tax in my state, so when I go to the DMV I will have to give them that? Does that make sense?

That’s exactly what the finance lady told me. I had told them I was going to take care of it myself but somehow it got added to the loan. Rather than take the time to redo the paperwork I just went with it. She said they would mail me a check and I would take it with me to tag office.

Guess we'll see if it happens this week, but I got 17 days left to register it, or I start accruing penalties.

You could always give them a shout. I don't register them til a couple days prior. My little protest on the sales tax. ?

Anyone else have issues with the tax office not accepting Gupton's Bill of Sale because it isn't signed? Mine just got rejected even with the signed document listing dealer, customer, and VIN ?

As a follow up, they did take the signed buyer's order I got from Walter when I signed all the papers.

For those that bought at Gupton and live in TN, can you share what percentage you paid in sales tax? I'm weighing whether to register the Jeep in TN or NJ where I still live Thanks in advance.

Financed mine through Fortera although Im sure they use several different credit unions. That one happened to be the best rate that day.
