Gun Rack

Want to put a rack in my Vorsheer XOC. (Don't know a better place to post this question)

The walls are plywood. I'd like to mount a rifle with a buffer tube and keymod handguard and have it quick detach. ?

Rifle weighs say 10 pounds max. Might not keep the rifle in the rack while driving.

Suggestions on brackets? Think they can be fastened with Velcro?

Since the OP wants to drill into the plywood of a camping trailer, let's pivot to simplicity for a moment.

Quick Fist clamps

Hook-and-loop has its place, but given the intended use case here, it's best to consider something that is less likely to suffer from unplanned separation.

Do their overhead mounts work with soft tops? I look for a place to toss a rifle when off roading and the soft top runs most of the summer.

Curious how low this sits in your vision as well. Do you have photos from other angles?

Sorry if my comment wasn't clear. I really like that particular setup, but haven't yet purchased it for myself.

Mostly due it being out of stock, and partly because I was wanting to buy an MSR pistol with a brace for that location, which has become a legal grey-area fairly recently (and having a loaded pistol in my vehicle is a-okay with my CCW permit, while a loaded rifle runs afoul of game laws in my state).

Their website has a little more info and a few extra pictures, but as I've recently noticed, isn't too detailed about compatibility (found several "JL" items that obviously wouldn't work for a 2-door JL). I might be mis-remembering, but thought that the kit stays in place if removing the Freedom Panels, so I'm not exactly sure how it would interfere with a soft top as opposed to the hard top.

I sent the company an email, asking that very question. I also inquired as when their JL accessories, all of which are currently out of stock, will return to inventory.

Appreciate it guys! Personally, running it in the passenger area would serve the same purpose. I also do not want to be pulled over with a rifle within hands reach by the visors and have to deal with that potential process with law enforcement.

It isn’t that much harder to reach back, unclip, insert mag, and rack.

We have a hammock setup for the dog in the back, which means putting it on the floor in the passenger area is much less accessible, so the overhead there seems ideal.

I would like to be able to fit a 16” barrel with OCM5 suppressor for versatility. But a 12” or 8” SBR would also be fine.
