I could use this to lift myself into bed...... or into the Jeep. I second the fact that this is not an old man's hobby. On the other hand Jeep maintenance is good exercise and you never know when you might be stuck somewhere and a bit of prior experience would be useful.

Discount Tires is your friend. Buy them there and you have free rotations for life.
Same with Costco - if you buy there you get free rotation AND you get free balance and patching as well for the life of the tires. I've priced Ko2's and they are the cheapest around here (Memphis.)

Unfortunately they don't carry Mickey Thompson.

Yeah. I don't remember the brand my husband wanted but they didn't carry those either. If they do carry what you want though it's a great deal! I do my shopping and my guy is ready to roll when I'm ready to pack him up and head home.

The local Costco’s aren’t inclined to install other than the stock size either.

I was able to go larger with no problem on my Sahara, but I'm sure it depends on how big you want to go.

I don’t know the specifics on variance, but someone showed me a replacement door sticker on a JT with the larger size on it so they would. He got it from Stockton 4WP who will print them. Verified when I got a TF Alpha from them, They showed me a replacement sticker.

Basic routine maintenance, right? I’ve done countless oil changes and tire rotations before but since this is my first Wrangler I was looking forward to today. The changing of oil was quite possibly the easiest I’ve ever done. Filter up top, plenty of space to work below… Awesome. The five tire rotation was brutal. First, I’ve never rotated 33ā€ tires before. That wheel/tire set up must be 90lbs+ so, holy crap, my arms are burning. Them UCL’s are talking to me right now. Lol
I was in denial by thinking I can do it solo and come out unscathed. My hubris got the best of me. I’m not young anymore.
Next time it will be $20 well spent at the local tire shop.
Yeah for the 5 tire rotation we just use the OEM jack. We pop off the OEM 33" spare first. Then start jacking up and rotating all four. Then put the new spare back on.

Instead of struggling with it - I simply ask my wife to help hold it on one side while I align it. Makes the job go by quick and easy.

What also helps in your 60s is doing weighted bar squats and deadlifts and ab work to keep your core and back muscles in shape - also calisthenics for upper body and skiing and SB for legs.

So "burning arms" can be a good thing! Haha! Just view this as an arm workout!

So I’m curious about this. You could ask for a door sticker that listed the tire size as 37 or larger and they would sell it to you?

Yep- I don’t know if it’s only at that 4WP or all. Or how much bigger they will print, I asked out of curiosity and was shown one they produce.

the JT had at least 37’s, obviously bigger than my 35’s.

If the tire size is listed as an OEM option for your vehicle, they will.
I wonder how picky they are about ā€œyour vehicleā€ . IE- 35’s weren’t a JLU option until about August of 21, years later for a JL, only with a specific option package available on specific sub models.

They were strict with my ā€˜22 JLR. Wouldn’t put 315 KO2s on replacing the OEM 285s. Discount Tire… no problem, sir!

Discount tire will rotate for free even if you didn’t buy there. I just had my wife’s car tires rotated there last month. I will buy from them when it’s time because of this.
