Was doomscrolling and ran across jeep.parts.accessories on TikTok. Had a good email convo about some steel Rubi bumpers and LED tails. Agreed on a price, and sent cash (mistake on my part #1). Got shipping confirmation, site *looked* legit (swiftgloballogistics). About 3 days later I got a message from the ‘shipping’ service. Due to this and that, I needed to send another $400, some of which would be refunded upon delivery and inspection. Welp, about a day later I got another note that I needed to send more cash. That’s when I knew I had been screwed. Out about $1000. Not gonna force me into homelessness, but is annoying.
So, beware of them.

Beware of take-off sales, specially from the Southern California area. They’ll ask to meet in person, never provide an e-mail address or corroborating information.
They use a cell phone number for calls and texts, and they’ll ask for a shipping address or to know where you live, or they’ll provide a meet-up point.

Once you meet up, they’ll force you into your mobile phone and banking information. This is coming from state and local law enforcement agencies.

The real target are crypto apps on mobile phones. Once they force a victim to make a transfer, the funds can never be recovered.

So if someone agrees to meet in person, it’s best to delete banking and crypto apps before the meet up, or hide the bank accounts on the apps at a minimum.

Hate you got scammed, but if your need for (Rubi bumpers) matches with my (take off) side rails from my 2025 Willlys. I would have a geat deal for you.

For those asking, yep. Zelle. It was proposed as a good percentage better by not using a credit card.
