Gorilla glass worth it?

so you're gonna get a heap of different comments. I have the regular glass...took a big ol' nugget to the window that resulted in a chip with a minor spider crack, got it repaired, and while the initial spider is there, it's hard to see and it hasn't spread. Took another mediocre hit and the ding was too small to repair. Been a year, I'm glad I didn't get gorilla. I've seen images of gorilla that just shattered basically on a cold morning with defrost on. On the other hand, some folks swear by it. HPG has a replacement glass that they launched golf balls at during an exposition to show it's strength...of course, it may all lie in QC and you're subject to the same issues...so to summarize, it's really up to you. =P

Almost to good to be true. - My dealer near L.A. (Auto Shaver) just quoted me $1320 for the GG windshield incl. parts and labor. That’s of course way too much..

Id find a better dealership or take my receipt and ask them what they’re smoking. Sorry btw, it was 667.70, not 672.

My 2006 has had 5 or so windshields...lost count, common issue. Current one has crack.

Mine took 12k miles and 15 months, but it got whacked and it cracked. I will say that there were several times before where I heard it get whacked, and no crack. Anybody saying that GG will chip but won't crack is... on crack.

Edit: I'll also add that Safelite says the replacement cost of just the glass would be $1061 if not for my insurance.
