Just did my regular check for some 4xe love and saw this:

yeah, i just saw this too on their website.. really don't understand why they would choose to only mount their Solo Fridge Slide, IceBox 1.3 or CampKitchen 2.3 on the passenger side when they even mentioned that their products would not work with their tailgate table..

so i already have their tailgate table.. but knowing that i would not be able to use it once i install their solo fridge slide is just mind-bothering... what is the reason for the cut out opening of the cargo space to be on the driver's side instead of passenger is just speechless.

Well that's very nice looking!

There's less clearance on the driver's side due to the gate latching mechanism. I think that's why the stuff has to go on the passenger side. Yes, the other Jeeps have that too, but the seatback hump eats up space in the 4xe.

I made my own full seat delete platform, but would be really tough to make a retail solution for it. It's easy enough to drill out the welds for the brackets that hold carpeted trim piece, but in front of that are stout seat mounting studs sticking straight up 2" over the extra sheet metal hump behind the battery. This is where I used 2x2 (1.75") pine to frame my platform out, with 5/8" plywood on top. This elevates it quite a bit. Could go lower, but then the studs would be sticking out.

Held on immediate ordering, re-thinking my use case. I'm also considering the AAL MASS platform, similar idea but L-bracket slots instead. Not sure what I'd gain if I'm not going full rear-seat delete. I have the Trailgator table and a Vector Offroad cargo tray installed so the gains might be minimal.

I just visited their website again and it seems they have updated their description and added the options of both "Driver or passenger access door".. now this makes better sense.


Also, i am still waiting for AAL's version. I have spoken to AAL multiple times since May, and the answer that they gave me was because, "they dont have a 4xe to work on it.." and as of late OCtober, they still haven't got their hands to one.. i really find this to be amazing...

Oh well, the gladiator certainly deserves more attention...

by the way, the AAL mass platform for 4xe is smaller than non-4xe. As a result 4xe can only use their 6x3 system products. I was going to buy it, but when i asked about whether it would fit my Dometic cfx 45 along with their 6x3 flat side.. they could not tell me... due to lack of testing vehicle.. I i asked back in May and the last time 2 weeks ago.

it says it doesn't require their mass platform. The mass platform is cool, but i am having second thoughts because i just hate the fact dust would eventually creep through the holes and dirty the cargo bed...
So, i am thinking of buying the this goose gear platform, get myself a good fridge slide, and mount this AAL duo drawer next to slide and built upon it. best of both brands!
