Magic - those are the guys who i was going to be chasing up next - I am going to be relocating to work in Tomball, so was scoping out RoverOaks and Demontrond

Riveroaks werre quoting me the 3.75% without trying too hard - colleague got 4% off them last summer
Hell if you are gonna be in Tomball I would just drive over and talk to him. Mention the forums and the 6% under invoice. He was good over email and the one call to put the deposit down, but I still like face to face on this stuff when I can. But they did take care of me, so I have no complaints. I’ve had family buy a few vehicles from them over the years.

I’m just going to be swinging in to visit family, pick up the Jeep and then head to our next duty station

I tried explaining that to him. He said they have had bad experience of not getting paid! I hardly doubt that but didn't feel like arguing. It's amazing to hear some of the stories the dealers come up with. When I presented the deals to a dealer who is 5 minutes from where I live, the sales manager said he would get fired if he matched the price I had!!!! Negotiations are done now! Let the Jeep be made and be delivered.
Congrats on the purchase! While haggling is sometimes fun, for the most part you're usually only dealing with a $10 or $20 a month difference in payment that you probably would have spent on something else anyway. Your dealer sounds like he was the most ignorant dealer in the entire FCA dealership network, but in the end it's most likely a negligible cost either way in the long run.

I'll interject some advice on life, which I hope is well received. If you start thinking about _anything aside from necessities_ in terms of monthly payments and differences in such, you've already lost the plot. That specific outlier should not apply on forums discussing Jeeps, there are far better bang for buck vehicles out there, used or new. If you're worrying about food or shelter, month to month makes sense. Anything beyond that, and you should be thinking about long-term costs, not monthly payments.

That said. 6% below invoice is about the best most can do, even with Tread Lightly. If you've gotten better than that, more power to you, but I've spent a lot of time buying more than a few Jeeps, and 6% below invoice is the magic number if you're not military. I'm not sure if that will continue into the future, but for now - that's a good number to target as a consumer.

The point is $10 a month is a rounding error to most people in the brand new Jeep market.
On the forums people always get hung up on percentages under invoice, but in reality the differences in monthly ownership cost aren’t really going to change your lifestyle unless it was a stretch to begin with.
