I'm considering buying a JLU, 2018-Present. I have 2 trucks currently, F150 and a F350, 2011 and 2016, respectively. I hunt every night and do so from my vehicle on multiple properties (all legal and w permission). On my F150, I had to have the dealership enable Dark Mode to keep interior lights shut off when opening the doors. With the lights off and Dark Mode, opening the doors @ night is pretty covert. The F350 has had nothing changed and, w operator controls, I cannot shut off the interior lights when the doors are open and the exterior lights illuminate when the doors are open. It's like a space craft on exhibition.

That makes evading detection by hogs, coyotes, and bobcats problematic.

So, I am curious to know what is available to dark out a JLU? Canning shut off interior and exterior lights and open the doors and have them remain off? Can the dash and other control lights be shut off (stereo, climate control)?

Thank you.

When a door is open and the interior lights are on, rotating the dimmer control to the extreme bottom position will cause all the interior lights to turn off. This is also known as “Party” mode because it allows the doors to stay open for extended periods of time without discharging the vehicle’s battery.

It requires a Tazer bypass control module programmer. Dark mode is one of many of its functions. It mentions that dark mode can be used to kill all interior and exterior lights when parked and running. Not sure if it also functions when the Jeep is off.

The tazer JL module allows you to have dark mode at the push of a button.
Could you tell me which button to press? After I enable dark mode on the Tazer

Thank you

It’s in the live menu so left button plus cruise cancel till you get to it…

Dark Mode: If enabled, turn off all exterior lights and dash, radio, and shifter lighting. Selecting again, advancing to next menu item, pressing “screen off,” or driving over 5 mph will automatically cancel this mode.
