Gobi 392 Arrived at AEV!

When I ordered mine I stupidly thought that I'd be driving it back from Montana. Subsequently discovered that they only do R&D there now and all builds are done in Wixom. Michigan to Colorado isn't quite as beautiful as Montana to Colorado.

Bummer! Not too scenic driving through south east Michigan.

From what I understand it'll ride really rough until you add significant weight. Significant weight, of course, isn't a "good thing."

Does AEV still do builds in Montana? I used to drive by their warehouse in Wixom, MI all the time!

Loved to see all the Brutes back in the day. Even got them to give me a tour of the facility once and they walked me through how they outfit all the conversions.

All build-outs are done in Wixom.

I drove a JLURD with the full JL370 treatment at my local dealer a few months ago. It had standard springs. My guess is it weighed somewhere in the ballpark of 5,600 lbs. Felt great and well balanced. I talked with Joseph at AEV about the high capacity springs and he recommended them. I’m going to be primarily towing my 392 behind my Power Wagon/FWC for wheeling trips. I might put 2,000 miles a year on it tops.

You will have a super nice Jeep. Consider driving it back through Michigan's upper peninsula. There is lots to see along either coast, Lake Michigan or Lake Superior. You won't run into much traffic but gas prices will be a little higher.

That's a great color... I wish it was available for the 21's.. may have to have mine painted someday...
