See green circle in pic. That ground point in passenger foot well, is free. Be sure to clean paint off the surfaces that your ground wire ring will touch, so you have a good ground. To get that plastic off, to access that ground point, you have to remove one fastener at the top and pull.

Nice. Glad that Jeep finally added some easy ways to get aux power to things. I'll take being careful with CANBUS + provided taps over hacking apart harnesses any day.

Here is what you, with Aux Switches, will find (see pic below) in your passenger foot well.

Under the hood/engine compartment you will also find the 4 wires related to Aux 1, 2 ,3, 4... but no ign or batt wires in that Aux bundle like in the foot well bundle.

So would you use the pink./orange that is acc ?

I hardwired my dashcam to the cigarette lighter.
My rock lights I ran through the passenger side grommet and installed a relay next to the fuse box.

Where is the grommet in passenger side?

@alrola

Yes, use the pink/orange wire if you want the 12v power to go on when you start your JL and the 12v power to go off when you turn off your JL.

IF you are wiring up a radar detector, you might want to do as I did and use one of the 15 amp Aux wires instead.

Do this and if you radar detector starts signaling to much ... false alerts, you can just reach over, press the associated Aux button and quickly turn the detector off.

Once you get past the false alert villain, you can just as quickly tune the radar detector back on.

Remember, this same Aux switch can be set up so the radar detector comes on when you start the JL and urns off when you turn the JL off.

As Rhineback 01 said, use the driver side grommet if possible.

I chose passenger side because what I was installing went under the passenger seat, and I didn't want to run wire over to the driver side, then back to the fuse box.

The passenger side is more of a boot than a grommet, and you have to puncture it with a coat hanger or something to pass through a wire, it's tricky, but can be done. Which is why the driver side grommet is the recommended way.

@alrola says he has Aux, so he has absolutely no reason to be running a 12v wire from the engine compartment to wire his radar detector.

As you know, there is an Aux bundle in the passenger foot well he can use, if he indeed he has Aux switches.

I pulled off my fender flare based on a video I saw and I still broke two clips. :(
Fortunately they are inexpensive so I bought a couple packs of them. The dealership had them for me by the next day.
Like the video says “pull hard. It feels like it’s goi g to break, but it won’t”

Yeah, and it's the biggest regret I have when it comes to options that I don't have. I really want to add it, but the switches are like around $300, and now thaat I've wired the other stuff, I'm not sure what I would need them for.

Although I am sure I can come up with something. :)

Assuming no Aux switches, what’s the easiest way to get switched power under the hood? I want to make my Quake halos switched to come on only when the car is on.

I know there are threads around here somewhere on Aux switches. That’s $300 I’d be willing to spend. Not sure how much of a PIA the install is.

What do you mean by "Only when the car is on"? Can you describe it more?

For a radar detector, agreed. Just a heads up for people wiring up other things, the constant 12v and ignition 12v are only good for 10A. Not sure why Jeep went this way, they should have just done 40A on those two. I have to run new wire due to this, or use an auxiliary port (more likely), as my radio draws 20+.
