12v power draw of the accessory you want ignition switched?

When the ignition or accessories are powered up.
Unless you turn on the headlights manually, do they not only come on when the ignition is on?

I have the Light Worx Halos from Inspired Engineering, and my Halos are tapped to the DRLs, so they come on with the ignition. Is this what you are trying to accomplish?

No. The Quakes are a bit different. The main driving bulbs plug directly into the old harness. A 12V wire to power the halos goes directly to the battery (this is the wire I want to have switched won it’s only powered when the Jeep is on). There is another wire that goes to the fender turn signal. When you put your directional on, that wire causes the halo to flash Amber with the turn signal.

I’m not quite sure how to get the Quake halos to behave as DRLs. The halos have RGB LEDs and can be any color, but that is controlled via an app on your phone.

Yes, the Quakes have a 12V line I currently have directly hooked to the battery. I’d like to switch that so it’s only powered when the car is on. It’s ok the way it is. The lights don’t come on unless you activate them via the phone app. But I’d rather them be switched so somehow they don’t get turned on and I forget about them overnight or longer.

Ok, it sound similar. Mine had a plug that plugged into the factor plug, then 2 leads, 1 for white halos, 1 for amber halos. I wanted amber DRLs, so I ran that lead to the sidemarker DRL. Now, I could have run it to the fuse box and used a fuse tap, to have them come on with the ignition and NOT use the side marker DRLs at all (Could even turn those off in the controls, and only run with the halos as DRL), but I didn't, I may change that later.

When the headlights are on, the halos turn to the white. Now, best I could tell, is I could not have the amber halos as turn signals AND DRLs, it was one or the other.

Your wiring setup sounds very similar. 1 plug harness and 2 leads?

Something like that. Can’t find the instructions on line. 12 V, ground, turn signal and maybe one more.

Yes, use the pink/orange wire if you want the 12v power to go on when you start your JL and the 12v power to go off when you turn off your JL.

IF you are wiring up a radar detector, you might want to do as I did and use one of the 15 amp Aux wires instead.

Do this and if you radar detector starts signaling to much ... false alerts, you can just reach over, press the associated Aux button and quickly turn the detector off.

Once you get past the false alert villain, you can just as quickly tune the radar detector back on.

Remember, this same Aux switch can be set up so the radar detector comes on when you start the JL and urns off when you turn the JL off.

.

THANK YOU.
I think that makes sense for now. I am only wiring the radar and later on lights and a wench so I will do those in the wiring AUX cables in the engine bay. I can always remove the AUX wiring inside the car if I need all 4 for something else.

I would also thing that Jeep will give me less BS if they are wired to the AUX as opposed to the fuse box. They can always say any electrical gremlin is my fault.

I have an Escort inline fuse connector cable so it would work great.

This is my first Jeep and I love how people, agree or disagree, chime in and try to help.

I have learned two access point from the inside of the car to the engine compartment, ground and Aux connections.

So I can now wire from the left, right and inside the engine when two days ago I would not wire shit.

Thanks !!!!

The driver's side, small, accessible, firewall opening, with a plastic cover over it, is right where you would have found the clutch pedal coming through the firewall..... if your JL, automatic was a manual shift. You can't miss it.

Hey guys.
The AUX wire of radar worked perfect. I used Rhinebeck01 suggestions.
One question... do your AUX switches light up at night ? Mine do not but radar works.
I also have no AUX show up on Connect screen.
