5.38 or 5.13? Which engine? Which transmission?

Even with a 3.6L and if you meant 5.13 that is going to be a lot of gearing for 35s, but it can depend on your use case and the transmission/engine combination.

I recently had concerns about 4.56 and 35s and what it would be capable to do. After some time with this set-up on a 2.0T, with a 2.5 lift, I'm getting 22 mpg on highway and it has proven more than capable on the trails in Colorado. 5.13 will obviously work, especially if you run high altitude trails.

I have a jeep rubicon with a 2.5 lift with 5:13 gear ratio. I want to go down to 35’s. Will this be okay without doing any damage?

I wouldn’t think it would do damage but your RPMs might be up there on the highway which might decrease you MPG’s?

That question is a bit vague.

But generally, no. That combination isn't a grenade with the pin pulled about to explode.

Of course, where and how you drive it will impact how the Jeep holds up over the years.

You will probably not like the high RPMs on the highway and your fuel mileage may suffer. But that isn't anything breaking.
