I find it useful....not sure why you find it annoying.....But I am surprised you can't turn it off. Can a tazer turn if off? (I don't have one).

Pros:
Saves me from doing unnecessary in-and-out of 1st (at long stop lights) to make sure I'm in 1st gear & sometimes catches when I could be in 5th at highway speeds after dropping down to 4th for an incline.
Cons: ? Did it displace some other useful information?
I have a tazer but I don't see an option. Maybe in a future release?!

I really don't have this issue that people are seemingly having here on the form. I can touch the shifter and know what gear I am just from the feel. I guess I'm just "old school" or whatever. I used to be in the stupid "car scene" 20 years ago, so if you didn't know you were in first a light, you were about to lose! lol.

I have RARELY made the mistake of being in 5th gear for 6th gear when I have a stereo going or something, but literally 1 second after putting my hand on the stick, that "mistake" is completely gone. How would you not know the difference between 5th and 6th by just moving your hand?

Annoying - Maybe only cause it wasn't there before, so when something "changes" in your peripheral vision on the dash that wasn't changing before, it usually indicates a problem to me. So every time I shifted, I would glance down thinking something is going on. I'm sure I'll get used to it (probably already have).

I've had my '21 6 speed for about a month now, and have been reading about them for longer than that. I'm not aware of any procedure, either through factory settings or aftermarket programmer, that allows you to remove the gear indicator from the instrument display.
I have 21 willys sport unlimited, you can do that on screen setup by turning off the option "main screen"

This explains some of the stupid driving I see. Staring angrily at a display while driving is a good use of time.
You think someone is driving around just staring at a screen all the time being angry at it because of a feature they can't turn off, which is then somehow related to their time management.

I'm not sure I understand the comment. You were trying to define stupidity by example perhaps?

Anyway, this thread is about how to turn off a feature, not how stupid I think the feature is.

Here then, you’re a fucking idiot looking for a problem.
