Another vote for swisstrax. I have it and love it... have had lots of floor options, and swisstrax will be in all my homes going forward

Love the lift, I wish I could fit one in my garage. Ceiling too low.

Yes I have had Racedeck and Swisstrax. Get “ribbed” Swisstrax. Racedeck is junk. Is expands and buckles as the tiles are not as thick as Swisstrax. If you call them directly you will get a discount. As for the lift we did the Racor lift with Topsy straps we couldn’t be happier it is the most affordable lift without going DIY Got it on Amazon

Besides being for her pleasure, why ribbed versus solid?

Doesn't it get a lot of dirt down between the ribs and such? What about cleaning?

Ribbed allows water to drip through (think of melting snow when pulling in) and not pool on the walking surface. You simply wait for it to try and vacuum it up. For stubborn stains that won't come up, you pull the tiles and vacuum underneath.

But I've never had to pull a tile to clean - and only pulled a tile once to get a tiny screw that fell through when I dropped it.

@Quick pretty much nailed it. Looks nicer longer as mentioned water drops below etc. No issues cleaning with a pressure washer, blower or shop vac. Also as mentioned above the Racedeck solid you have to leave an ugly gap so it will not buckle. Also if you have nothing on it to keep it in the same spot every time you move cars in and out it starts to move and then it buckles again. The Swisstrax is thicker and you can mount it right up next to the wall with no gap.

So for all those reasons I prefer ribbed Swisstrax over solid Racedeck. I literally got fed up with the RD and sold it to swap for Swisstrax. Then this new house I just started out with Swiss.

I have the racedeck flow through. Love the look, but it does have some disadvantages.
1 - drop a screw or washer or something small, it disappears into the tile and you might have to pull up a tile to get it back.
2 - i have to pull it all up twice a year to clean all the debris out from under it.
3 - it hurts to walk on barefoot.

otherwise, it has held up great for 7 years now and has seen a LOT of traffic and oil changes and car repairs and bike modifications and.......

Wife and I installed snap together tiles from Floor Junkies a few years back. For plastic, they are OK and somewhat less expensive than a certain name brand that is also plastic. If you go this route, be sure and lay down a layer of roof felt paper between the tiles and concrete or it will click-clack whenever you drive over it.

so wanting to bling up the garage now the evora is in pride of place, walls can be painted and adorned with car pics etc, lighting changed but what about the floor ?? atm it is just the tampered concrete finish (not smooth but not pot holed!) what have you guys used in this instance and how did you get on with the varying products ?? self levelling compound can be a bugger, never used epoxy resin before, any thoughts / advice be gratefully received !! as would pictures of ya garage !! commercial flooring Raleigh
Might check this link, small vinyl chips in epoxy makes for a pretty durable and blingy floor, I think there are DIY kits too if that's something you like doing.

Vented or ribbed will warp or flex the least amount as they give more. Solid with warp the most and it's really about how the sun hits the floor. I don't care what you have if it's direct sunlight and hot, it's flexing. Cheap stuff will flex a lot. Quality matters and I've had several over the past three decades. SwissTrax is the best I've had with the least amount of issues.
