Gap between body and Mopar rock rail

Hey guys I took off my Sahara side steps and installed some mopar slider/rails.

is it normal to have a gap like this? If not how can you adjust this issue?

I added Rubicon rock rails to my Sport S and have the same gap. I think it’s “normal”.

Yes, a slight gap is normal with the Rubi rails. Can usually only see it at a certain angle with mine.

The gap is good. Keeps it away from your paint and allows dirt and water to pass thru so you can step on it and it aids in cleanup. Small rocks do get stuck but pop them out as the happen and don’t force them down into the gap.

The gap also allows the rock rail to flex without banging up the tub of the Jeep. You want a gap if you plan to wheel it hard.

Looks good to me. You want a gap so they don't ding the body.

My rock rail was so close. You couldn't fit a piece of paper through it.

I had to use a washer to space it out.
