Okay, so obviously I have some sort of learning disability. After an hour I still can’t get Gaia to appear on my screen in car play in my 2022 Jeep. I have a premium Gaia account, phone is synced, nothing. Screen shows my location and doesn’t seem to communicate with phone in the Gaia app. The Jeep and phone communication fine otherwise. Any ideas?

On car play? Yes. It shows on the screen on my jeep but pushing the icon does nothing???

Sorry, just read you have car play. I use android auto. I hit the customer button the screen

then it tells you to go to your phone and select the app you want enabled. so find gaiaa, select it and relaunch car play and should appear on your home page

mine was pretty seamless. hope this helps

I don’t have that app but maybe try going to settings on your iPhone, general, CarPlay, Uconnect, customize and make sure the app is enabled.

You do have the phone plugged in, not just connected by Bluetooth?

For years Gaia would not appear on my screen. Then, it just started to work about a year ago. I did nothing to the settings in CarPlay or my phone. I haven’t updated my phone in years. Not sure why it started to work on its own….maybe a recent Gaia update.

‘22 JLR here. 8.4 Uconnect. I can run Gaia on my OEM screen however I don‘t. I will get to that in a minute.

First, do you have a ‘carplay’ button along the bottom of your screen?

If not, you got to get there. I don’t remember if that was automatic or required a set up but you should be able to hit the CarPlay button and all of your apps that are supported will show up. Scroll until you see “Gaia”.

Touch the Gaia GPS icon and this should appear…

Now for the reason I don’t use Gaia on my OEM screen… I only see a rudimentary map. Not all the layers I see on my iPhone or iPad.

This happens to be in landscape but I prefer portrait. Let me how else I can help!

I don’t have all the layers either. I run the MVUM, property ownership, and NatGeo national forest layers. Property lines don’t show up at all, and while I can see the MVUM layer and what trail I’m on, I have to use my phone to see details (what’s allowed on what trail and when they’re open). Not a huge deal, but I do have to pick up my phone before turning on to a new trail to make sure it’s public and legal.

I also keep a current updated paper copy of the MVUM with me if I ever get stopped by a CO who doesn’t trust what the app says.

Yeah - me too. About a year ago I could go through some sequence of starting either the phone app or the carplay app on the Jeep first and the enhanced resolution would magically appear after perhaps a few tries - recently in the past few weeks I tried the same and many other things and got nothing but a rather useless and very low detail base map.
