I am new to this and this is my first post. With that said, I am looking at getting a Jeep Wrangler in the middle of next year.
So here is my question:

If I order the Jeep, can I drive it off the lot in Toledo where it is made? Or can I visit the plant and see my Jeep being built?

I have never been a big fan until now. It looks like the JL models were really well thought out on everything imagineable. In addition, looking at the reliability aspects it seems that Jeep has made gains and that reliability is in the eye of writer. Let me give an example, JD Power may consider a cell phone a reliability problem compared to the transmission acting funny but in JD Powers' eyes they are equivalent issues.

Thanks for reading and I look forward to reading the posts here!

A. Although many would like to and pay a fee to do so nobody is allowed to drive their ordered Jeep out of the Toledo plant or watch it go down the line.

B. Every vehicle has its issues but if you browse this forum you will be scared off. You need to wade through the BS. It is a GREAT redesign and aside from some reported issues here and there a great buy IMO. I love the improvements over the previous JK model and I have really enjoyed driving this Jeep much more.

If you've never been a fan until now i would also consider other vehicles like the Grand Cherokee, Land Rover sport, or Ram 1500.

The JL is a big improvement. But it is still a Wrangler. The fuel economy, ride quality, and safety feature are not on par with other vehicles in the same price range.

Bolded part can't be stressed enough. Just remember...squeaky wheels get the oil...forums are a place for those squeaky wheels to squeel.

I have a '12...you would swear everyone with a '12 would need a new engine. Never had an issue...it effected less than 10% of users (still "huge", but not omg I need to trade my Jeep in now! Which...many people did even before having an issue).

You'll see lots of screaming about issues on any forum, for any vehicle, especially at new release. Take it with a grain of salt and drive on with that knowledge in the back of your mind.

Every vehicle forum I've been on has complained about issues. I had an '03 sentra spec-v, precat failure, butterfly screws, transmission issues, etc but I never had an issue. I had an '07 JKU, fires, engine issues, and the only issue I had was a radiator fan blew and it was replaced under warranty even though I was heavily modded. '11 Camaro - oil pump, and probably others but by that time I wasn't as active on the forums for this reason. Oh, and a '17 STI which apparently was prone to ringland failure but I didn't keep it long enough to find out (for other reasons).

I'm torn between picing up a '18 JK and a JL. Reading the forum, I'm sold on the JK for sure. But then when I go look at both in person, the JL is much better and I'm sold on it. The biggest factor right now for me is that the JL has rear seat vents. I also like that the JL has door stops, but I can add those to a JK for about $250.

I must say I can’t believe how well the JL rubi drove. Other than on the freeway at 70, I would think I was driving a crossover and not a wrangler. At higher speeds the noise up is there. As mine was early order I may need to check the windshield alignment
