"...will possibly share a platform with the Wrangler and Gladiator..." It better not, because that thing clearly has IFS.

It is kind of ugly, don't you think?

I can't tell from the pictures if it is supposed to compete with the Ford Maverick or the Ford Ranger. It looks too car like for a "truck" if you ask me.

I'm holding out for the Ramcharger. As long as it's not electric.

I was always a fan of the Dakotas ( had 2 of them)
The problem was, by the end of it's line the lowest priced Dakota was $2-3K more than a 1500 and people just didn't see the point in paying more for less truck...
More capable-nope
Better gas mileage-nope
Cheaper-nope
FYI-my old man is still running his 2003 4.7L...

The writer of one of the articles I just read pointed exactly that out. Built along side on the same platform as a Gladiator and IFS , questioning the possibility of IFS.

“The next Wrangler/Gladiator and this new Ram are scheduled to come out at the same time . This lends even more credence to the idea that there will be platform-sharing . Could this also mean the next version of Jeep’s iconic off-roader could ditch the solid front axle (gasp!)?”

This "old man" still has his 2003 Quad Cab Dakota 4x4 with the 47. V-8. Runs like a top and looks new with 110,000 miles on it.

I loved the early 2000's Dakota. If I had a 4 door one of those compared to the Durango, I probably wouldn't be in a Jeep right now.

It's going to be a mid-size truck to compete with the current batch of mid-size trucks (Ranger, Colorado, Tacoma, Gladiator)
