Having some shifting issues and wanted to see if resetting the TCM would help. I pulled the F08 fuse, started the Jeep and to my surprise there was no warning or CEL at all. I even shifted into drive and nothing out of normal happened. I triple checked that I pulled the correct fuse. Does this make any sense? I've pulled other fuses and have always received some kind of message on the dash.

Fuse 8 is main power supply to tcm. It should cause a host of problems. Wouldn’t try driving without it installed.

This will be a fun one to explain to the dealer… Can anyone confirm they get dash lights if the fuse is pulled?

Why would you? Leave it alone.

I’ve taken it to several transmission shops and they all agree that there is some kind electrical/programming issue with the transmission. Dealer keeps saying there’s no issue. It just seems odd that the fuse isn’t doing anything (or anything obvious) and may point to a diagnosis. Just spitballing here.

Whats the actual problem? Rough shift? No shift? Gear skipping? Slipping?

From 6-5 and 5-4 the downshift is rough enough to make an audible clunk, makes it very hard to brake with consistent pressure on the pedal. When on the gas in 2nd and then release right before it would go into 3rd it clunks into 3rd. Also very confused and rough shifting at low speeds.

Have you driven any other JL’s to compare? How many miles are on yours?
“Audible shift” isn’t a problem per se.
