Did you find out the issue?
Yes, I apologize, I thought I had finished the post. So I took off the front passenger tire and pulled the fender liner back, and right there was the main wiring harness, laying up against the exhaust tube & crimped in half on one end. I checked it thoroughly, there were no wires exposed or burned through, so I pulled the heat shield back, and tucked the wiring behind there, put it back together. Then I pulled the glove box out and checked the star connector. There was 2 wires that were barely hanging onto it, literally by a thread. I cut the frayed ones off, stripped the ends and re-wired the connector. I replaced the 15 Amp with a 20 Amp, in the f08 spot, put that all back together. Then crossed my fingers and started it up...No check engine light, no service throttle light, no traction control, no limp mode since. I have driven it daily & nothing. Its running perfect again. I don't know if the heat from the exhaust on that harness was causing it or the frayed wires that connect to the Star connector, so far, so good.

I wouldn't recommend increasing the amperage capacity of the fuse. Wire temperature will affect the flow of electricity and with the wires being up against the exhaust... That could have been the reason for the fuse to blow. Fuses protect your wires from melting and can cause more serious problems like the worst case scenario of a fire. Yes, you could get away with a higher capacity fused if you know for sure there is no longer an issue and you don't have the right fuse available in an emergency situation like being stranded somewhere.

You should put that 15 amp fuse back is as soon as possible to ensure that the problem is fixed and keep a few spares in your Jeep just in case. If it keeps blowing the 15 amp fuse, I would be tracing wires and checking for shorts while wiggling the wire harness around.

You know what, your right, I didn't even think it through to that extent. The last thing I need to do is overheat the wiring. To be honest, when it was blowing the fuses, I got stranded without any 15 amp fuses, only had the spares in the fuse box, and so 20 amp was what I had been using everytime it blew. Thank God nothing happened

Glad you figured it out. Woot Woot! Sometimes it's an easy fix once when find the problem lol troubleshooting is fun!

Happy you were able to find a solution! I noticed that harness contacting a few years ago after EGR work and pointed it out when picking the Jeep up. At least that has been secured for a while.

I've been chasing electrical gremlins on my JLURD since a botched oil leak warranty repair less than 6 months after I got it (2020). Fried the power steering pump last month, 11 days out of warranty, even though it had been to the dealer in May-June and July for the same issue (but intermittent), and dealer wanted over $5k to repair. I've had it home the two few weeks waiting on parts and energy. Every time I start working on it I find more broken connectors and half-assed electrical "repairs" they've done to limp it beyond the warranty period, get really pissed off, and give up for the night. Finally back together but I'm guessing I'll have to replace the whole main electrical harness at some point.

Thanks!! I'm just thankful it was like you said, an easy fix! I do have to say it was fun doing the troubleshooting & so rewarding that it didnt have to go to the dealership for service. But I have to give props where their due...So to everyone who helped me, I seriously can't thank you enough guys!
