So right now I have rokblokz front and rear, but am thinking about doing the fender split/chop. Unfortunately the front ones mount to part of the fender that goes away I believe.

I really like having mudflaps for the winter because of the salt spray on the doors.

Does anyone know of mudflap options for the front after a fender chop? (I believe I can keep the rears as they mount to the frame)

Preferably removable like the rokblokz because I take them off for spring and summer.

I've seen a few videos where guys hacked up the inner fender liner to keep it mostly intact when doing a fender chop for installing the Quake/RR/AAL type of corner lights. Think the only part of the liner that wasn't preserved was at the front, near the light itself. Think I'd go that route myself, which should allow for the original mounting method for your front RokBlokz.

And from one of our forum members. This is what I did for now. Still considering doing the fender split and AAL inner fenders in the future.

Thanks for the replies everyone, it looks like most of these methods keep the liner which doesn't really gain that much clearance?

I am thinking of doing the full split to gain clearance for wheels with different offset, and then do aftermarket liners.
(right now I have 35x11.5's on stock wheels, and they do tuck in, but rub a little bit here and there. I am looking at the Quadratec Morphic wheels (because I like the factory look, but want a little less tuck) With those rims, the tires will end up hitting the flares because they will no longer be tucked in when the suspension flexes. Hope that makes sense haha.

I am trying to use the new rims without a lift for now.

So i guess I am wondering if anyone has fabbed a quick disconnect type of mud flap that would mount somehow similar to the rear Rokblokz do.

Thanks again :like:

Im in the same boat, have gutted fenders but with my more recent tire choice, it sure does kick up a lot more than any other tire I've run. I just received a new set of rokblokz, now need to figure out how to set up a mount for them, maybe off the AAL inner liners that I have.

Honestly can't remember if this is how I installed my front RokBlokz, but I'm thinking it's possible to install the 2 clips that normally go on the flaps onto the plastic piece that sits under/beneath the fender liner instead and then screw the quick disconnect screws through the holes in the flap and then into those. The other clip on the inner plastic piece should still be retained independent of the liners afaik.

The 1st video (@4:53) shows how they're normally supposed to be installed and the 2nd video (@6:39) shows the method I described above, which shouldn't matter if you have liners or not (not really sure if aftermarket liners would interfere with this in any way)..

That second option just might work. Thanks so much for taking the time to find all that! Really appreciate it?

I cut my liners while I figure out which aftermarket ones I want to go with and it does give you a little more clearance over stock but obviously you still are going to run into some stuff with the factory liners there.

This is on the bump stop up front on stock Rubi wheels/tires with the Quake chop.

I will admit I did it just for aesthetics for now. I think it looks better especially with a stubby bumper. I plan to do a fender split and AAL inner fender liners at some point.

Yeah, that looks great! that is definitely part of why I am thinking about doing this as well. Also, you do gain a little bit of clearance where the light used to hang down. I actually did almost take that light out on a tree last year while wheeling.
I agree they look great with stubby bumpers which is what I have too.
Thanks again.
