I do have to admit, the down hill assist is pretty awesome. Kinda takes the fun of using skill out of the game though.
Sounds like you have an auto ? And you figured out with the downhill assist when you pull the gear stick across into manual you can control the speed + / -?

I agree with the others: you don’t want to lock your front diff on a windy road and lose your ability to steer.

Besides, unless the Jeep is buried in 1+ foot of snow, lockers are more likely to cause you to skid than anything else.

4-Lo should suffice in controlling the Jeep down a steep downhill.

PS - if your Rubicon came with KO2 ATs you should be fine in snow; MTs can be less predictable.
