I probably will catch flak from serious Jeep guys but as a newby I have a question. Only for looks, I would like to install a front bull bar on my stock Sport S new JL bumper. (not steel). Will aftermarket make some available or will I need to buy a steel bumper? Thanks.....

I'm sure Westin or Aries as well as 10 other companies will eventually. The largest market will definitely be for bumpers though.

I know you're going for looks but would definitely suggest considering a bumper with a grill guard built in. They are a lot sturdier and will hold up better if something ever hits it.

Thanks for that advice. I had thought of that and am pretty sure I will go that route, especially since it seems to be solid advice. Thanks

I used a Rugged Ridge bumper hoop for a CJ-5 bolted to the frame on my 12 JK. Waiting to see if it will work on my JL.

Extreme Terrain has a question on their site they havent answered yet regarding fitment on the JL. I like this light mount too, just not convinced it fits a JL. Would hate to order and have to mess around with returning it.

I +1 that. Even a less expensive steel bumper will add protection. I have an LOD mid width with hoop on my JK and a few years ago a medium size deer ran in front of me. The deer was not so lucky ... my front bumper had exactly one tuft of hair stuck to it and zero other evidence or damage of the incident. Made me a believer....

You may also want to check out two other styles that are available from @JcrOffroad. Both are $199.
I'm waiting for my JL, but one of these is definitely on my short list of mods to be acquired! :like:

Would this stinger actually support the weight of the vehicle in a situation where the Jeep tipped forward? I’m worried that a bolt on won’t be strong enough vs a bumper with the stinger already built in. Or is this one purely cosmetic? I prefer function vs form when it comes to a stinger-
