So as I was installing a new aftermarket front bumper, I used a battery impact wrench to zip the nuts on a couple of the studs and one of the studs sheered off. How big of a deal is this? Still 7 holding it on. What should I do? Obviously regret set in when it happened, but I never would have thought it would have just sheered off like it did.

Which bumper? A grade 10.9 or grade 8 bolt shouldn’t be easily broken. Does the bolt go through the bumper or is it welded on? Pictures would help.

It was a stud welded on the bumper. I don't have a pic. Not much to take pic of. Just one of the eight studs missing.

I guess my real question is, is it ok to run with only 7 studs secured to frame?

Is it going to fall off? I doubt it. My concern would be, will it stay on if you pull the Jeep by it.
