Ok guys... so my beast has 1,500 miles on it now. So far no issues until a few days ago- right above my head the freedom top panel is making this soft popping noise when I'm driving. Seems to be present during turning/ body flex and during regular driving. It's a constant pop...pop pop..... pop.... pop pop pop.... etc coming from the center area where the two panels meet up.
Anyone else have this issue? If so, did you find out whats causing it? I really don't wanna take it into the dealer for such a small issue. Rather try to fix it myself...

Interesting. "Grease" with what? I'm assuming it has to do with the colder weather...

White lithium grease quiets it for a while but once the seals soak it up it will start making noise again. Put a small amount on a rag and run it over the seals.

Mine started to make noise when it got cold. I took the panels off/on and haven’t had an issue in the last few weeks.

I took the driver's side off and on which made it go away briefly. I just read that you can use silicone grease on the rubber and rub it in real good to keep the rubber moist. I'll try it this weekend and see if it works.

Same annoying noise here too. I'll try that as well - thanks for the tip!

Silicone grease works well on all the rubber seals. While you have the freedom panels off also check the 2 bolts, 1 per side, that hold down the front of the hardtop. I've had those bolts loosen and cause a clicking or popping sound.

So I thought of that. I was going to make sure all the bolts on the hold down levers are tight...

Quick update- I didn't get a chance to pick up some silicone, BUT due to the warmer weather here in VA over the weekend, the noise stopped. I'll get the silicone grease this weekend...

OK, so I put some grease all over the freedom top panel seals, and so far no noise. We'll see how long this works! FYI I got some clear silicone grease from Lowe's...

Grease those white guide pins too, they can make a rubbing/squeaking noise.

Didn't think of that- I'll hit those as well. Also made sure that the bolts for the freedom panel locking arms were tight.

When I had freedom panels and this would happen, I found just unlocking the panels, lifting them up, re-seating the panels and locking everything back down usually took care of it.
