Frame thickness

So I called evolution off roading and asked about weld on sliders for a JL like the have for a JK. I was told they wont be making them because the frame is thinner. Not sure if anyone looked into the thickness of the frame but I know those sliders were amazing and rather them than a body mounted slider. Anyone have any input on the frame thickness?

I think its like 5 mm or so

Is it still 5.5" tall and 3" wide? Now I'm wondering if I would have to box it in with a added 1.5 mm thickness of steel or a L would work.
