I want to weld some tabs on my frame and slap a couple of spot welds on the exhaust. What precautions do I need to not fry the electronics? disconnect the battery? Where at? The "red" terminal? Thanks.

Not Jeep specific but when we did some stick welding on the frame of our 2019 RV, we completely disconnected the batteries (both house and cab) and did not suffer any electronic damage.

If you have the 2 battery setup, disconnect the negative cable and then take the auxiliary negative off the main neg cable. If you don’t take the cables apart the aux battery will still be hot.

I'm not sure how long it takes to bleed off all the residual power from all the components, but I'd give it 10 minutes or so after disconnecting the batteries.

Just ask @cosine he knows!
Also connect your welding ground as close as you safely can from where you will be welding.

To add to this, make sure the ground clamp is on bare metal. Paint is an insulator.

Good point! I use a small wire wheel or that little sanding roll on my dremel, has worked well for that.
