Good morning my friends,

Need some help from the team. I recently purchased the Fox ATS steering stabilizer for the JK for my JL (after hearing all the horror stories of the terrible bracket on the JL version as well as wanting to relocate the bracket anyway).
My issue is with the clamp. I have the 1 5/8 inch clamp but when I mount it to the stock JLUR tie rod, there is a gap (see pics). Is this normal or do I need a different clamp?
As always, thank you all for your help!

If you take just the bottom saddle and put it in the rod does it fit flush? The clamp you have appears to be a 1-1/2" clamp.

Thanks for the reply. It doesn’t fit flush. I just unpacked it from Northridge and double checked the box. It says 1 5/8 inch. FML…

My thoughts are the same as CarbonSteel. Both halves of the clamp should be in full contact with the bar. The only gap there should be, is between the halves, to ensure full clamping force.

Measure it. Maybe they made a mistake?

Ugh…. Just measured both halves of the clamp. The part attached to the ATS is 1 5/8”, the lower half is 1 3/8”. Don’t know whether to hate FOX or Northridge right now. Thank you

Should stock JLUR tie rod be 1 5/8” or 1 1/2”?

Stock JL 1 - 5/8, and it looks like a stock JK is 1- 3/8.

do the bolt holes line up perfectly? Hate to say it, but you could break out the grinder and open the lower up.

You can't bag on Northridge, the clamp parts are pairs and come that way from Fox. Excrement happens and it's a bummer, especially on a long holiday weekend, but a call to Northridge on Tuesday will get it all sorted.

They don’t line up exactly. Guess I’ll have to wait until every opens back up next week. Appreciate it.

Good point. Just frustrated as I finally had time to put it on. Oh well, worse things could happen.

Man I feel this. Definitely a first world problem, but I've been doing a ton of upgrades when I get time and on multiple occasions I've had wrong or missing parts. Some were purchased direct, others from a third party vendor. Since COVID, QC has taken a dive as manufacturers rush to keep up with demand. Fortunately each situation was remedied fairly quickly, but with 2 young children and a wife that works nights and weekends free time is at a premium. I am now in the habit of opening new packages immediately and checking for all the correct parts.

Hopefully this gets taken care of quickly for you. Cheers.
