Hard to see what you are showing. Are you saying you had to turn the center Caps over, machine out the center structure to make sure they pop in? I am looking at the T-AK1 wheels and am confused on which center cap fits, the tall center cap or the ”Bespoke” cap? do you know Which one fits?
When I questioned cap availability because the tall caps were in stock and came color matched if wanted they said they were the old style and didn’t fit the newer wheels (also only in black). Yeah “bespoke” my arse, since they didn’t fit the front. The caps are also different diameters and they had me send a pic of a tape measure across the hole to verify. … when I first contacted them with the provided e-mail they responded with answers quickly, give it a shot.

yes- link provided earlier
yes- cap center had to be drilled enough for the axle , fortunately there is enough metal, but barely, it’s close enough I paid a machine shop $40 in fear of drilling thru.

I was wheeling a 9 rated trail last month by Kanab Utah and watched a 89 bronco on 39s break all the wheel studs off and his rear tire fall off. Luckey for him, Napa was about 10 minutes away once off the trail.

Those are really nice. Look solid. Thanks.

Installer at Discount Tire told me a while back they replace a lot of OEM studs on Jeep Wranglers. Is it true, is it a big deal? Not sure, all I know is I sheared off a couple during routine maintenance and I have to ask myself - is it worth the confidence factor to just not have to deal with that again? Replacing a stud isn’t hard, but it’s still a pain. YouTube video showed me how to do it. The corrosion aspect is another factor. I drive my vehicles for decades. Fix it with a better part than OEM if that is available. Jeeps are great in that regard due to the aftermarket support.

I’ll probably be better off using the OEM studs and lugnuts vs switching over to Ti for both. For now. Thanks for everyone’s input.
There's no way of knowing where the studs come from unless you source them yourself. I like Discount Tire, but I'll get my own wheel studs, thank you very much.

I carry 5 spare OEM sourced studs for this reason. It's probably not going to happen to me, since I'm the one that carries them. But, I'll likely have a bolt or nut of some kind if someone needs them.

I don't buy critical fasteners from generic or unknown sources. China has infected the fastener supply to this country and you really don't know what quality you get from them. More often than not, they're junk. I bought some Dorman lugnuts a couple years ago and the thread fit was so loose on the studs that I feared they'd strip the threads out easily. I bought a thread plug gauge and checked them. They were way out of spec. I bought all new Gorilla lugs and they checked fine. The Dorman package had "made in China" on it.

was the shop that told you this the same one that sheared yours off?
(doesn't mean it never happens, but) i've never heard of this problem before.

i think i would probably stay away from that shop. if you're still going to worry about it, try getting better quality studs.
either way, the problem is not the wheels.

Bro just about had his wife convinced he “needs“ forged wheels with titanium wheel studs and lug nuts…to avoid certain peril, and @yokramet and @zouch gotta come on here and wreck his plans.
Its on him if he wasnt smart enough to not tell her he was making this thread first. Never expect others to solve your problems for you

Forged wheel general question and included a question on wheel studs. Thanks for all that are helpful.

I sheared them off removing rear tire by hand using a four-way lug nut wrench. Two studs actually. Bought OEM ones to replace, and some spares just in case.

Damn right, works for me. I “needed” forged wheels, steel fenders, exhaust that came with extra insulation. Sometimes a simple getting the tires “rotated” (to bigger) or the differentials “serviced” (to 4.56’s) etc is not available, and a good excuse is needed. To avoid hearing 🧏‍♀ “Your High Dollar Jeep!”. C’mon man,
I hope she doesn’t see this, jeeez.

So here's some information i found today for the good of the order. Titan moved warehouses so they sold off thier inventory ahead of the move and have no Jeep wheels in stock. There is one site with four black ones priced above the Titan website price. The vendor on ebay said the green is more of a forest green and those are priced well, but only four. Titan 7 will take an order, but those will take five to six months to be produced.

Sounds about right, they had 4 bronze in stock when I ordered Jan of 24. Offered to send them and the 5’th when available. I declined mostly due to a possible finish difference between runs, received July.

I did pre order so there was no chance of missing the next run without diligently watching availability.

seems weird they’d shear coming off unless they were already damaged; had they always been installed with a torque wrench?
