So Eastern KY got some BAD flooding recently. I was wondering if, in an emergency situation, the 4xe in all-electric mode could go deeper than 30" of water. Yes the diff fluids and likely transmission fluid would need to be replaced asap, but if it means being able to get out of a dangerous spot could the 4xe go say through 60" of water, doors leaking notwithstanding.

60" is like 10" below the stock roof line.

In addition to the damage to the vehicle, you'd be dealing with floating the Jeep and loosing complete control due to current.

EDIT: Fred made a Jeep submarine on Dirt Every Day that you may want to check out.

Floating may be a concern. If enough water gets in to weigh the jeep down enogh to not float, maybe then? Crazy talk terrirtory I know.

How about 4ft? On 35" tires factory fording depth should be something like 3ft for the 4xe Rubicon (30" for Sport model, Rubicon's suspension makes it sit about an inch higher I have read, 35" tires are 4" more diameter than Sport 31" so adds 2" off the ground.

In my experience with my past 6" lifted XJ, I forded rivers regularly. Once the water hits the floorboards, it'd start to get dicey, loosing traction and floating. Also, even moderate current will be carrying you downstream, as you skip over the rocks you can grab on the bottom. It can be fun as long as you're not above Niagara Falls....

I don't think the 4xe experience will be much difference. I'm not worried about HV electrical connections, etc. As you say, after an expedition like that it's good idea to drain your pumpkins - especially up here where the water is full of glacial silt. Extending vent lines is common prep item.
