same as i dont care if you drive an ev and have a man bun, not my problem.
Look here, jefe, if you have a better way for me to keep these luscious locks out of my eyes when I'm cruising with the top down I'm all ears. (No, seriously. These things are like satellite dishes.)

Don’t worry. In a couple years AI will take over and decide whether EV’s are a go or not. Be happy.

No way could I get through all of this thread. I ended up skipping half of the comments…….

Volvo made a video that had two vehicles, one being ice and the other a EV. To make an ice vehicle it would give off 45 thousand metric tons of green house gasses and the EV vehicle would give off 90,000 metric tons of gasses. You would have to drive the ice vehicle 90,000 miles before being equal with the EV, then from that point forward the EV would start to have the advantage. This kinda reminds me of the regular household bulb vs led's. I changed out all my bulbs in my house including the spot light I had outside to led's thinking my bill would be reduced to mere pennies since they are using less currency to power them. My bill came in a few dollars cheaper than average but not to the point that manufacturers claim.
The biggest problem is they rarely last 90k without major HV system repairs. They almost all have their battery replaced by this point, which definitely increases that green house gas metric. They're also nearing/out of warranty by the mileage point so they're near worthless on the used market due to the cost risk.

Even the Prius battery packs start going bad around that mileage. Except you can have a guy come out and rebuild the Prius battery pack in your driveway for under a grand. I'm not aware of any BEV battery packs capable for field rebuilds yet. They're all scrap and replace

Some people here seem to believe celebrities who have no scientific competence of any kind simply because they argue against the consensus of the people who literally spend their whole lives measuring, studying, testing and examining the subject. It really shouldn't be that difficult to determine who you should be trusting...
I'm just glad to learn that, apparently the politicians, who receive very large "donations" from the fossil fuel industries don't have any motivation to lie about pollution or climate change.

Shhh, that doesn't fit the narrative that "follow the money" is somehow supposed to implicate Big Green apparently.

Because it never happens the other way right...? All politicians only lie when it's convenient for your argument. Fuck the green new scam.

It's just... the cheap gas, big oil supporters never got mad about energy or the climate until Green came along. Convenient, isn't it?

I guess accepting subpar service and good is acceptable under the premise of saving the planet. Or is it just a other 9 out of 10 doctors recommend to smoke Camels.

Huh?

Don't know if you're talking about EV's or what. The maintenance schedule for our EV is once every two years. Basically inspect suspension joints and flush the brake fluid.

Not a single problem with ours since we bought it. Can't say the same for my Jeep. CEL's and Auto Stop Start has gotten confused a few times. The crappy quality isn't an EV problem, it's a Stellantis problem when it comes to Jeeps.

As it stand right now, can you drop a EV to replace a ICE without any adaption required?

The answer is simply no, therefore EV are sub par as they do not meet the requirements to replace the ICE at 1 to 1.

Not sure about your situation, but we could have an all EV fleet at our house and not have a problem. 🤷🏽‍♂️

I'd also add that EV's are superior in some ways. But you aren't interested in hearing that.
