Fog light bulb replacement

I bought some sv.4 bulbs for my fog lights and god damnit if they aren’t impossible to get seated in the housing. They’re the right ones, I’ve checked and rechecked. Any tips to get them to lock in?

Push. Turn. Cuss at it.
Push. Turn. Compare it to the stock bulb for the tenth time.
