I changed the transfer case fluid last week and sent a sample out to the tested. No big surprises and the silicon is likely from sealers and gaskets since the wear metals were not super high. If I had to do it again, I would have dumped it at 10K and again at 20K and settled into an established OCI.
Mopar ATF+4 was reinstalled, but going forward it will be Ravenol ATF+4 that I picked up a while back. I did drop the OEM skid plate instead of attempting to flight with oil splattering everywhere and that only added about 15 minutes to the overall process--well worth it from my point of view.
Neither plug was magnetic, so does anyone know what the thread size is on the drain plug? I want to pick up a magnetic plug to replace the OEM.
