First time regearing, accidentally damaged this thing. Does it matter?

The plastic thing. Wasn't fully retract inner shaft while I pulled differential out. Causing some damage.

It's front passenger side, M210 axle with FAD.
Don't think that's the axle seal as the fluid needs to go to FAD.

That plastic thing just helps you line up the shaft during assembly. It's not strictly necessary. Replace it if you want but it's fine if you leave it.
