I've traded cars in before against ordered vehicles. Since the order only takes about six weeks, I ask the dealer to value my trade in its current condition with an allowance for a few more miles. The pinky swear is that if the vehicle's condition has changed at all, the negotiated price is reconsidered. The negotiated price has always stood (for me, at least).
