but the accelleration on the Penstar is pretty sluggish with the auto transmission. Not bad with a manual.
Have you driven a 3.6 with 8-speed yet? its not sluggish at all. In fact my Sate Farm Safe Drive app lowered my Rating because my acceleration is too harsh for them LOL. I went from like a A- to a B- LOL

That's the thought. I'm really torn honestly. I think on a lot of levels the simpler plain V6 is safer bet since there's less to go wrong, but the accelleration on the Penstar is pretty sluggish with the auto transmission. Not bad with a manual. Theoretically the BSG applies the initial torque electrically, so hopefully better take-off. Remains to be seen however until you can drive one, and by then they might have discontinued the Moab.
3.6L is definately sluggish. Just test drove it 30 minutes ago. For me to not to feel a huge difference from my 2008 JKU ā€œvan engineā€ was dissapointing. That is until I decided to test drive a JLU Sahara with 2.0 TURBO right after driving the 3.6 ESS! It was baddddd asssss!!!!! No comparison. Wheels were spinning off the line! Living in NYC thats all I needed to feel. MOAB off the list. 2019 JLU Sahara 2.0L Turbo it is!!!!! Anyone torn between the two engines I truly suggest that you test drive them back to back before you ended up regretting it. 3.6l might have 30 or so more horsepower if thats what you need, but Turbo torque is on another level and is a lot easier/cheaper to tune and upgrade with more options. My decision has finally been made!!!!! So happy I waited to pill the trigger!

I drove 3.6 rubicon 4dr today, and was feeling weird when driving it. We have a 2013 dr jk, and I’m like this new JL has to have a 2.0 ...it’s sounds like a cheap Honda trying to race a sports car...nope was the 3.6. Ugh seemed so less responsive then my JK. It’s actually bugging me so bad I left the dealership not ordering a 2019 even though I was getting 11.5% off MSRP. I don’t think I will be getting a JL. I don’t think I can do a 2.0 with turbo....just doesn’t seem right to me. Very disappointed and not sure what to do.

I'm not liking this one. The Rubicon hood looks stocky and aggressive; the body color hard top and fenders look sleek and streamlined. So it's crossing two looks there and doesn't quite nail either.
But the hood says MOAB on it!

URGENT - anyone planning to order a Moab may want to move soon. The most recent Canadian order form doesn’t include this edition (American order form will likely be released soon). I’m shocked FCA would only offer this edition for a couple months, so this may be wrong. But if you have your heart set on a Moab, do you want to take that chance?

I thought the US order guide was already out and included the Moab.

Appreciate the heads up, but it doesn't look like it was ever available in Canada. The older order guide from 9/11 didn't include it either. Still, I think probably time to pull the trigger and not wait around to hear whether BSG 3.6 will be offered and risk missing it.

They released the Canadian order guide and then updated it 2 weeks later. Again, I don’t have any inside info here. Just calling attention to the very limited information that is available. I’ve been in my ā€˜18 Moab for 10 days now and love it. For anyone interested in joining the club, I want to make sure they don’t miss out.

Valid point. But then again the 4-cyl turbos are already sitting on dealer lots and the Moab isn’t available with that engine. Therefore I expect it would be a one-engine edition. But I’ve been wrong before! (my wife would be happy to list out the many many many times this has been the case, if you’re interested...)

It wil almost surely been a single engine run off to help with the remainder of the 3.6 ESS engines as everything will become BSG. Anyone who orders a MOAB as of date is confirmed to be recirving a 2019 model. I have multiple build sheets in case anyone has doubts.

Oh. My. God. I just had a thought. Was the Moab a US-only edition? And if that’s the case, are there Canada-only editions??? Because I really really want a Banff edition Wrangler!

I do think most of the Nachos went to Canada. Is there a Canadian Nacho cheese dish I don't know about? Does that count as a Canadian Special Edition?
