I just did the winch and winch kit and ARB compressor on our new Rubicon last weekend. All in all, it went pretty smoothly.

First mod (bumper replacement) going on today!

The bumper and winch will be here today, but I’m prepped for installation!

Will update with follow up/progression pictures!

Don't be like me and get stuck if the hook bolts don't align with the plates at the end of the frame rails... you can loosen the the plates loosening the the bolts them to the sides of the rails and then reposition the plates while you put the new bumper on

Just remember to tighten them down once you're done!

Ha!

Noted. Thanks! Fortunately the studs aren’t connected to the hooks on the replacement so I’m really hoping for a straight forward install.

Honestly the winch looks like the easiest part.

Not super going as planned, you have to hit the 8 holes PERFECTLY or the studs fall out and you have to lift this 85lb bastard off and try again.

Finally got it on.

I love the look.

I didn’t have any help and it slipped off the jack leaving a scratch on the front but I think I can clean that off. Also a Nick on the overrider.

No big deal.

Good job... I know the pains of swapping out the OEM bumper for an aftermarket with winch. Hopefully the winch install won't be as big a headache as mine was. Also if it was me, I would try to lose that Quadratec logo.

Yeah I will.
The winch doesn’t look bad at all, it’s just so hot I’m whooped for today.

Winch will have to come later.

Being more used to 175lb bumpers on trucks, I became a pro at heavy solo installs. Heavy duty, long zipties are your friends, jacks usually are not. I can't tell you how many stories I have heard of bumpers falling off of jacks during installs.

My jump-box has been one of the most valuable solo install tools I own. It always seems to be the perfect height and on bumpers, I just keep inching it up as I tighten the zips. I have found it less useful for jumping...lol...
