Today I mounted my extinguisher using the threaded holes for the hard top. It just fits. I used wood as the mount as I do not have access to metal working. Only works with the soft top. I had to move it rearward to clear the soft top mechanism. I’m not saying this is a good solution, I may or may not keep it installed. E90B6EC1-63BB-43F9-8BA8-B0E8D284DB94.jpeg

I’d encourage you to reconsider your mounting location. If you need it in a hurry, the very back of the Jeep usually isn’t ideal

I keep two, and both are reachable from the driver’s seat.
Hi. Can you share pictures of where you keep them? Thank you.

Sure. I assume the JL rollcage is sufficiently different that my setup would require some tweaking (the bars aren't round any more, are they?), but I keep one above and one to the side.

Here's the halon that I keep for use if my Jeep catches on fire. It has a quick release from Drake (https://www.amazon.com/Drake-Off-Road-FIREX-MNT-DOR-Extinguisher/dp/B006VFR2LS), although I use hose clamps instead of the attachments that came with it.

For the cheaper one to my left, I just use the mount that came with it, again with hose clamps to keep it in place.

I used some sort of putty, don't remember what, to try to keep the release pin from rattling. There are undoubtedly more car-friendly release mechanisms available.

I've also seen quality mounts for directly in front of the front seat, behind your legs. Seems like a reasonable option, but whatever you do, make sure it's secure. Not the kind of object you want flying around in an accident.

This is probably a really good option for Jeeps....compact, heat stable and does not expire

That Element extinguisher looks pretty cool. I think that might be the one to mount in my Jeep. Almost wish it could be Jeep Club endorsed or something.

Element looks interesting/great... NEVER use an ABC extinguisher on a vehicle you care about.
