Got mine on! I recall someone at some point re using part of the honeycomb to make the fender not as floppy, but couldn’t find it on the forums. Anyone have a link or pic of that before I give it a go?

It could have been me. The fenders are solid like this. And unless I'm down at tire level, you don't see the inner structure.

Looks nice! Looks like you hid the wiring behind the fender liner? I still have to get around to doing that. Any plans to paint under the fender?
Yes I did. I didn’t like how it rubbed the top corner so I added some insulation foam to the edges just so the wire was rubbing on foam instead of a metallic edge.

I do think it needs to get painted, I just need to try to figure how how to terminate the black at the back end where the fender and rocker meet. Not sure how to make that look good quite yet

Well @RickyPal you shamed me into it:

I had mine unpainted for awhile because I also couldn't decide what looked right for the cut off. I ended up doing it this way:

Looks good x2! I like where you chose to cut off the paint. I’ll have to lay mine out and do something like that once I’m done clearancing my new setup.

You are right that AAL has a version for the non-highline fenders for sahara/overland jeeps but I would like to clarify that they still don't offer a version for the base sport model jeeps. This is according to their website, although it does say they will attempt fitting a chop on a sport model jeep soon.

To shed some light on the matter, the JL's and JT's have three different fenders that come from the factory based on the trim package:

Rubicon's and equivalent tier trim packages (Mojave) have the highline two-piece fender. This gives the jeep more clearance for larger tires and more articulation as they are the offroad focused models, but the fender can be easily separated to gain even more clearance like these products are designed to accomplish.

Sahara and Overland equivalent trim packages (including the sport s with max tow package for JT's, Willy's with paint matched fenders, Moab etc.) also have a two-piece fender that can be easily separated, but it sits lower down on the vehicle compared to the off-road focused trim packages.

The base model sport (includes Willy's w/o paint matched fenders) have a one-piece fender and a narrower fender light making it completely different. We designed a chop kit for this fender for those that wanted it, but you do have to cut all the way across the fender. I attached a photo of the fender being cut so that way you guys can get an idea of what this installation takes.

Do you have a light for the high altitude fenders? They are the one piece color matched ones.

Did you cut out the original black plastic and keep it or did you buy aftermarket inner liners ?
