AAL & Quake LED Fender Chop - Keeping Inner Fender Liners

I've got the American Adventure Lab LED fender chop kit, and I'm about to install it on my JLURD. I'm planning on keeping my inner fender liners for now, and I'm trying to decide where the best looking spot is to cut them (front outer edge of the fender). I've grabbed a few pictures to show what I'm talking about.

Anyone else who's done this, can you post some pics of where you made your cuts? Trying to decide where the best spot for my line will be.

This last one is actually the Rugged Ridge chop kit, and I particularly like how it lines up with where the OEM LED used to sit. Not sure if anyone's done something like this with the AAL kit, but would love to see if someone has!

I was wanting to keep my liners also; due to running the ARB compressor in the @Grimm OffRoad mount. How ever, I found it to be tedious and annoying to try and cut the liners so they looked decent.

I ended up ordering the plastic Paramount liners. They are a bit more tucked then OEM and stiffer, more like a kydex holster. Had to apply a little heat to make them work with my air compressor. But in the end, looks very factory and much cheaper then metal liners.

I would recommend these before cutting the liners.

I ended up ordering the plastic Paramount liners. They are a bit more tucked then OEM and stiffer, more like a kydex holster. Had to apply a little heat to make them work with my air compressor. But in the end, looks very factory and much cheaper then metal liners.

I would recommend these before cutting the liners.

Once mine are delivered I plan to cut like the third picture, I have the XR fender spats though. I’m changing the liners out for some aluminum vented ones. How long did you have to wait for your chop kit to come in, feels like I’ve been on the wait list for a while now.

Yeah I'm thinking I'm gonna cut the same way and see how it goes. If it looks bad I'll probably go with @SH556JL's suggestion.

I cobbled mine together from a beat up used set and a pair of new LEDs from a couple forum members, so not sure on the wait time sorry.

Cut them like the third pic I initially posted. It’s actually pretty easy to trim everything with a razor blade.

I have those same method wheels but all black. Did you order them with the red or have that red done ?

So glad I found your post, thank you! I have been researching liners and also have the Grimm off-road compressor mount, so this great info thank you.
