Don't most of us pay 2-6% below invoice anyway? Help me understand how this is good.

Not yet but I'm not 100% sure how this works. It's 1% under msrp and we got 4% under invoice so I don't think this will benefit us. For those getting stuck paying msrp it will. Maybe someone who's used this before will chime in and can clarify it.
With Affiliate Rewards, customers pay 1% below dealer invoice† on eligible new vehicles. This amount varies by brand, trim model and other vehicle features.

From what I understand, the affiliate program pays the dealer the 1% difference, so if they pass that along to us (if we provide an affiliate number), it should be 5% below invoice instead of 4%. I am going to ask them when they contact me.

Ok the lady today told me it was msrp so maybe we can get an additional 1% off @ChiJL.

FYI - I was in touch with my dealer today to schedule delivery of my new 2022 Sahara (VIN 101291, ordered Oct 11) and he mentioned that the Affiliate Program is alive again.

First post, but have been learning a lot over the last few months about my first Jeep. Hope this is timely info for someone in a similar situation.
Sweet. Thanks for the heads up.

As an added bonus, I thought the Tread Lightly membership expired on Jan 1st no matter when you signed up. I was incorrect and it turns out the membership is for a year from sign up and you can generate 2 control numbers per year.

I used my first in Oct 2021 on my 2021 JLU Sport Strippper and just generated another for my on order 2022 Sport S, Human Edition.

It appears I can generated one more control number in 2022.

I sure hope the Wrangler is eligible when mine drops, probably in April (Mid-Dec order)

Would be another $450 off the price.

It should be 1% below invoice, not MSRP.

The posted terms for affiliate are 1% under invoice, however, it generally can be used for an additional 1% off whatever the actual selling price is.

My guess is that what it really is is stellantis reimbursing the dealer for 1% to pass on and the rest is on the dealer to discount, so someone saying "it's 1% under msrp" is trying to weasel out of the dealer contribution side and the dealers already discounting more than invoice are just passing on the extra 1% since it doesn't effect them.

What about dealers that sale at or just below MSRP? I assume they don't have to honor it?
Depends on how you structured your deal when ordered.

My situation was straightforward - x% below INVOICE no strings attached, an additional pt for Affiliate Program, and additional pt to finance through dealer, etc.

Affiliate Program was expiring end of Sept but I chose to roll the dice and order a '22 without knowing if / when the AP would be back.

I now get an additional pt off the OTD price when I pick it up next week.

Using the Control Number gets you 1% below invoice without other negotiation at participating dealers.

Dealers such as Gupton discount even further. On mine it was 5% off invoice through them, then another 1% with the Control Number, so it goes to 6% below which is ~10% off MSRP

This is great news. Already getting 5% below invoice on my ordered JLUR-XR. Another 1% sweetens the deal.
