I want to replace the RUBICON decals on my hood.

I removed my RUBICON hood stickers when I had paint protection film applied. I forgot to measure or make a template of where the decal lines up.

Need a little help with measuring for the location of the factory RUBICON hood decals. I am trying to save a trip to a dealer to measure. Plus there is not a lot of inventory on lots around here.

*What's the measurement from the bottom of the letters to the bottom edge of the hood?

*What are the measurements from the "R" of the RUBICON letters to the hood latch?

*What are the measurements from the "N" of the RUBICON letters to the hinge side of the hood edge?

Thanks.

When you buy the OEM Rubicon hood decals, the backing paper has both the vertical and horizontal indicators on it. This makes alignment simple.

I’m pretty sure it is 1/2 inch from the lower edge, and centered between the latch and the trailing edge of the hood.

Anyway, here’s how to do it. I’ve followed this procedure a few times; works like a charm

I have the 2 left and right OEM RUBICON decals in the boxes. I cut one box open and all I saw was the sticker taped to the cardboard box. I did not notice any vertical and horizontal indicators? I will take a better look. Thanks.

I finally got around to installing the OEM RUBICON hood decals. Your right! The OEM decals have indicators for the hood location. The decals are back on and looking good!

Thanks!

Did you install "wet" or "dry"? I messed up the dry install and had to reorder and then tried the wet install. I found the wet install was much more forgiving.

I did dry install. I probably got lucky since it was the first time I tried applying a decal. It went on perfectly. I watched the video Aldo linked in this thread. I washed with alcohol and wiped down to remove lint and dust. Making sure all dust is removed is probably the most important step. I lined up the template of the decal with the back edge of the hood and bottom of the hood. I then taped the decal in place and placed a piece of blue tape down the middle of the decal for the hinge like in the video. I warmed the hood and decal a little with a heat gun. I then peeled and secured the decal by running my finger down the center of the letters to tack the letters down. I then squeegeed up and down from the center with a felt covered squeegee. Then I did the other half of the hinge.

I just used this process to rebadge my sarge green rubicon. Worked great. Just make sure you have a tool large enough for a letter at a time.
I found that cutting a square off the flap of a cardboard box works well as a cheap squeegee.
