For years I've been seeing labels on car waxes that say don't use on/over decals. The factory decals on JL Rubicons, Islanders, Moabs, etc. are not clear coated, so the vinyl (or whatever they are made of) is exposed to the elements.

What do you folks, who have these decals, use when you are waxing your hood, if we aren't supposed to get the wax on the decals?

Thanks for any and all input.

Best,

I can't say whether certain types of products are/are not safe for the decals. I have the big matte black 4xe hood decal and I simply don't want to alter the look of it. So I run some thin blue painters tape around the edge before I wax the rest of the hood.
