We are keeping past the factory warranty and at least to 100k. This is my wife's dream car so it's not going anywhere unless she gets pregnant with triplets or something, lol.
My wife did that. We bought a Jeep Cherokee planning on starting out with 1 kid. We did not want a minivan. One long trip trying to attend to 3 crying babies in the back seat changed all that real quick. We still have a minivan to this day.

The dealer told me it was 60k past the factory coverage, but it is not a Mopar warranty, it's aftermarket. I see zeigler offers 8yr 100k warranty for $2,410. so same coverage and same price. That's using a CT address that I can use. Doesn't seem to be any savings going to that vs what I have. I'm assuming that means 8yr 100k from new. so the same as my 5yr 60k after factory that I have.
EDIT: using the discount code it drops $400, and that is a Mopar warranty not aftermarket. Is that worth it you think? I'm about to just cancel my warranty and maybe roll the dice, especially knowing the Etorque is covered for 80k. I did not realize that before.

I was pretty gung-ho on getting a MaxCare warranty, but ultimately passed when I realized the eTorque system was covered for 8yr/80k. With the resale the way it is, if I start having problems inside of warranty, I will get them fixed and move it along. This is my third Jeep and mine have all been problem free. Best I can tell, the eTorque system seems to be pretty reliable too. My general experience with Jeeps is that you will start seeing problems early on if you have a lemon. I am sure there will be people who can directly refute this, but that has been my experience.

If you think you can handle ~$2k repair outside of warranty, I would probably skip it. Take the $2k and put it in a savings account. I was really close to doing the Mopar MaxCare but with 3/36k bumper to bumper, 5yr/60k powertrain, and 8yr/80k eTorque, I just felt like I was prepaying $1200 for a possible repair down the road, that may or may not happen. Our Jeep is a weekend warrior though, and will only see ~500 miles/mo.

Well, big surprise, the dealer lied to me. I just called the warranty company, my coverage is 5yr/60k from date of purchase, since the jeep is only a year and a half old I'm only really getting an extra year and a half or 17k miles more coverage than factory for my powertrain. definitely not worth it for $2,400... cancelling now

Sorry to hear that, but at least you found out now while you can still cancel. Good luck with everything.

Again, if you bought a warranty from a FL dealer, you must cancel it asap because you already overpaid, period. As I said above, if you use an out of state address, your quoted price is much cheaper, and it might be worth it to you then. You can get a free quote in about 30 seconds.

Here, you owe me 30 seconds:
MaxCare 7 year/100K mi/$100 deductible: $1,995 (FL price is $2,965)

If you are keeping it stock, and plan on keeping it to or past 100k miles, you NEED a warranty. I also recommend Tom Winkels. I got mine through him and it was $500 cheaper than the site linked above, which I already thought was a pretty good price.

Wow, better than above?
How do you find him -- I googled him and found an obituary. I hope he's ok!

I called the dealer and left a message for them to send me the paperwork. Now the fight to get them to actually do it starts.

I cancelled a plan for my Titan that I bought in January and just got the check in June. The dealer wasn't doing anything so I went through the warranty company directly to get it done. This company is saying that only the dealer can cancel it, they will not work with me directly meaning I'm at the mercy of the people that don't want to loose their commission, not a great way to do business.

I just got mine two weeks ago. 5/75/100 MaxCare. It was $1360 on JeepFacrotyWarranty.com, bought it from Tom for $860.
Yikes. I wonder what the guys who paid full retail are thinking. Its amazing how much profit is baked in. $860?? I mean... they have to actually fix the vehicles they warranty, right?
I'll give him a shout, see what he quotes me...

EDIT: He quoted me double what he quoted you. WTF?

For me, I would say yes. I got a 10yr 100k miles. My last Jeep was a JK and had it for 7 years and only had 30k miles. I plan on running my JLUR for as long as possible. Now if I was a 3-5 year type of vehicle owner, then I would not get it.

Yes, but Mopar only does a 2" lift.
True (for now), and you can't get it installed in your driveway. But a least you can pick your own shop for a 2" lift and not be forced to use the dealer. Which also brings up a point: do you have to get your 2" Mopar lift installed at a dealer to use your regular 3/36 new car warranty?

If you do a search for Jeep Wrangler Mopar Warranty you cabuy the warranty direct a lot cheaper direct than the dealer. select a max care and you will see all the plans available. That is one thing the dealers really mark up on a vehicle The most.

I drive a lot. Most years over 25k. I got a maxcare 7 years, unlimited miles, $200 deductible from Clay Robbins for $2050. Put it on the Jeep credit card, 0% for 6 months, first statement credit of $100, and 5% back to spend at the dealer. So it cost me $1950 and I have $100 to spend at the dealer.
