Hey forum peeps....my 2019 Yella Sport S 3.6L auto has had bith batteries replaced in 2021. This past May I was getting the dreaded service ESS and that awesome A! indicator on the dash. I pulled the fuse and disconnected the negative on the aux battery and all was well, until last Thursday. Dreaded A! is back on after start-up again. Any ideas on the cause this time? I have an Odyssey main battery as the only battery connected. Also religiously hit the turn off ESS after every start up. Any help would be most appreciated.

Pulled F42. Originally the service ESS went away with just the main battery, but it has now reappeared.

Jludave, I respectfully suggest you reread what OP wrote. He clearly says he pushes ESS button every time since pulling F42 and Aux negative. He's now getting Service ESS warning.

OP, suggest you start by doing a load test of main battery. If your Aux went bad, it may have compromised the main.

Jeep kept replacing batteries on my JLUR, bought a 2022 Grand Cherokee L and had immediate problems there as well. Turned out the problem was the main battery was never getting fully charged. Part of the reason was that we were not driving them enough, part might have been because we kept the keys in the car and the remote apparently causes the vehicle to be constantly working behind the scenes or some BS like that. Regardless, I had an Optima 400 charger laying around and hooked it up to both Jeeps, neither were past 50% charged! Even after taking them to the dealership. The dealer does not take the time to properly charge these up to full and many chargers don't properly bring the batteries up.

When my batteries are fully charged via the Optima 400, I never get an error code or hesitation for the start/stop to work. Another thing I noticed was that occasionally the AUX buttons would not work and a code would come up saying the battery was not charged. All went away when I used the Optima 400.

Just pulling the fuse and disconnecting negative cable going to AUX won't stop ESS...it will try and run ESS with main battery. Push the button or do some other steps to disable it.
