I like my 4.88 choice with the 8 speed and Mickey Thompson BB AT 37s (36.5). Still can drive 75 mph.

Exactly where I am going once these tires wear down some. Does it hold 8th gear for the most part? What RPM at 75 are you?

It holds 8th on flat ground. I can't recall exactly what the rpm is ... low 2000s maybe. But you can calculate it exactly using gear axle ratios x 8th gear ratio and tire diameter.
