Nothing yet really, although the Alfa Romeo application of a 2.0Turbo provides something to base speculation on, it’s not necessarily an analogue of the Hurricane due to the intended uses and respective target markets / vehicle class.

The only technical document we did see appears to have been a typo submitted for the VIN.

Although guessing that the typo is based on a 1-digit off error, I’m guessing that 268HP is the number, but tq remains a mystery, and the tune could be either end of the scale. However either end just puts is right beside the Pentastar either just above or just below, but not significantly distant in either direction the way the ED is.

If the long term strategy is to replace the Pentastar, sure it makes sense to FCA, but not for the benefit of Wrangler owners the way an option noticeably more powerful or efficient would be.
Grape I've been on Allpar for years and i think its going to be 268 hp 295 torque. Cant wait to see the torque curve and compare it to the Pentastar. I know you're waiting for pentastar with bsg...just not sure which direction i want to go. Had 8 jeeps over the years. I do think the 8sp and new axle ratio will make a big difference vs my 2014 JK

Do you consider 1st gear to be low or high? Low range to be low or high? The entire industry considers numerically higher gears to be “lower” than their numerically lower counterparts.
As for me, I use shorter and lower interchangebly, and by it I mean numerically higher. Taller and higher in the other end. For example, 6th gear is taller or higher than fifth. I spent much of my life around Indycar mechanics, engineers, and drivers. That's how they communicate it.

I'd like to know what brand and model the new manual transmission is going to be. I'm not a fan of having 1st and R next to each other. I understand it's supposed to help with rocking the vehicle out of a stuck situation but that doesn't happen often enough to justify the annoyance of learning to hit 1st instead of R all the time.

The reverse lockout feature on the shifter will help keep you from inadvertently shifting into reverse.

While taking off from a stop?

The lockout features are to prevent hitting R while driving.

Usually a lock-out feature is for driving (technically the NSG370 has one), but the Lockout RING (or in other models a button) keeps it from doing so while stopped unless you engage the ring/button.

Yeah, he must have driven a sick one. My JKU with 33s and the old 3.8, with 4.10 axles, isn't too bad. I have driven a 2013 JKU Sahara 3.6 with the auto and 3.73s, and it was quicker than my JKU, from just off idle all the way up. It felt good. I'd think it would be even better with 4.10s and a manual.

While some are disapointed, I'm looking forward to the 3.6 and its proven reliability. I'll have this thing out in BFE and don't want it to crap out. My old dog 3.8 has never had so much as a hiccup, and that's reassuring in the middle of a remote trail. Especially if you are deep in the woods and hearing banjos in the distance.
I always felt the 3.8L got a bad rap, but more because of the 42RLE than its actual performance. It just wasn't geared right out of the box. Up here at high elevation, it couldn't hold a gear to save its life. My '07 with 35's and 5.13's was perfect. Yeah, it was a bit of a slouch, but it still drove great, especially with the manual, and given all the crap I had bolted onto that Jeep, the gas mileage wasn't horrible, either.
