Luckily I crawled under my 2 month old 2 dr JL Rubi to check on my skid plate to make sure my bolts were still tight. Noticed antifreeze under the front on driver side. At first I thought, no shit, another water pump fitting leak like everyone else. But looking closer, I saw that it was this oil cooler device on the side of the block. In an impossible location to get at. Took pictures, made appointment with dealer. As I checked in they said Jeep says that's a 5 hour job to replace and they have the part. An hour later they come back and say "you were right, that is what is leaking, we don't have the part." So schedule next available appointment about 10 days later. Friday morning at 8:30. They tell me it won't be done that day. Not done Monday, Not done Tuesday. Wed afternoon they call me to say its done. Pick it up, drive it less than 100 miles, and yes, same leak, same place. Now I have to go all thru that again. Jeep sure knows how to make you regret spending $54,000.

Nvr mind. It's in the 2.0 section. Hopefully it's not another coolant issue on the 4 cyl.

Same isue here. 2018 JLU Sahara bought new in 2018. Did not notice when it started. took appointment on Monday said it was the oil cooler. waiting on part. Picked up Friday. Cleaned the garage floor. Noticed Monday more drops of oil on the garage floor. I guess I will drop if and when Jeep Cares decides to pay for some of the cost of the header gasket & both front door gaskets for the water leak that happens in heavy rain. Seems odd that after 2 years they started to leak. Didn't take it in to get it checked due to deployment. Good thing I have a '98 TJ Sport w/ Hardtop to keep me going to the job to pay for the $50K oil dripper / water leaker. lol, not really. just trying to fool myself I guess.

They would not believe me that I had the same problem, and drove to my house, drove the Jeep to the dealer, checked it, and said, yep, I was right. They say the oil cooler itself has a hair line crack, and it is not the gasket. So they say I have now had 2 defective parts, one from the original factory, and then the 2nd one they replaced??? So now I wait for another part to be shipped.

Maybe it was torqued down improperly? Weird issue.

I thought of that, but the device has a base plate with the bolts around it, so the bolts aren't applying pressure to the actual unit, just the lip around the edges. Hoping they will be very careful and maybe even use a torque wrench on their 2nd try.

Really sorry to hear about your troubles.

But this is what happens when the college educated bean counters save money by eliminating QA/QC.

Hope it’s fixed soon.
